Fragrant Wintersweet (Chimonanthus praecox)
Native to East Asia.

Zones 6 - 9.
Winter, Early Spring.
10 - 15 ft (3 - 4.5 m).
Sun or partial shade, rich, well-drained soil, average water needs. Pruning is not necessary. However, if you wish to grow it as a compact shrub, cut branches back to about 10-12 inches above the ground in late Winter, after flowering.
By seed or cuttings (take these in Summer).
