Origins
Europe - Mediterranean, Asia Minor.
Type
Perennial (evergreen).
Hardiness (see References, below - Zones 4 - 8.
Bloom - Spring.
Height - Approx. 6 to 8 in. (15 - 30 cm).
Cultivation - Sunny, southern exposure, best. Well drained soils, but will adapt to most. Easy care plant.
Propagation - By seed, or by division.
Other - Fragrant blooms! Arabis comes in white, and various shades of pink/purple/blue. This drought resistant evergreen, is perfect for ground covers, borders, Alpine/rock gardens, and on dry walls. Arabis makes perfect companion plant to Fritillaria imperialis.
