Additional Information about Crocus
Most famous in this family, Crocus sativus, is a source of the world's most expensive spice, saffron (made of dried stigmas of the flower).
Apart from culinary uses, crocus has long been established as a medicinal plant in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. It is believed to be a good remedy for improving liver function and in menstrual problems. It is also used as a colorant in various foods and drinks.
