Euonymus

Spindle (Euonymus europaeus)
Other Names - European euonymus, Spindle Tree, Pfaffenhütchen, Poison Wood.
Origins - Europe.
Type - Perennial (deciduous).
Hardiness (see References, below) - Zones 3 - 8.
Bloom - Spring.
Fruit - Fall.
Height
Approx. up to 30 ft (9 m).
Cultivation - Very tolerant Sun, and soil-wise, except it does not like permanently dump soils, so avoid these.
Average water needs. Prune for compact shape.
Propagation - By cuttings, by seeds.
Other - Small tree, that will bring year-round interest to your garden. Attractive blooms in the Spring, red foliage in the Fall, and red berries in Fall, and Winter.
CAUTION - while bark, and root have some medicinal properties, they are not suitable for home made remedies.
Best, just enjoy it as a seasonal, horticultural highlight, and part of our beautiful Nature.
